They identify the two security members injured during a shooting at UASD

Santo Domingo, R.D. – Authorities identified the two security team members who were injured during the shooting recorded on the afternoon of this Thursday in the vicinity of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), an event that caused panic among students, teachers, and employees. The injured are Juan Manuel Méndez and Ligel Encarnación, who were carrying out surveillance duties within the campus at the time of the incident.

According to initial reports, the shots were fired by "Alexander Jiménez Galván", a law student, identified as the alleged attacker. After the attack, the individual fled towards a nearby shopping mall, where he was intercepted and detained by the establishment's security agents. Police and university authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting, while the two injured officers are receiving medical attention at a hospital.
