Manny Cruz successfully celebrates Merengue Day

Santo Domingo.- For the third consecutive year, six-time Latin Grammy nominee Manny Cruz celebrated Merengue Day with lovers and followers of the rhythm of the güira and tambora, presenting not only his hits, but also the tributes he made in his most recent album entitled “2080”, to great merengue artists of the country. “Are there even merengue artists here with the tambora!? I feel so excited to, finally, see you all tonight to celebrate with all of you the day of our merengue, our heritage, our culture, and our identity. This is the third year of this concert, in 2023 we did it in Puerto Plata and in 2024 in Baní. The Lord has greatly blessed me and it has been based on pure merengue. This is 2080, a tribute to the greats of this country,” said the singer-songwriter. Starting with “Funny Man” the two-hour show was received with the joy of everyone present, an audience composed of followers of all ages who danced from beginning to end to the 20 songs in the repertoire, remaining standing all night. "You know how to make me fall in love", "Party, Party", "Hey", "Queen of Swing", "I don't believe it", "If you look at me", "I am complete" and "I don't believe it" were part of the songbook that was added during the evening. Upon arriving at "This Christmas", the artist came down from the stage and went into the audience, sharing a closer moment with his followers who took the opportunity to take photos, hug him and give him gifts.
