HIGÜEY, LA ALTAGRACIA.- Centro and San José clubs made the first move this Wednesday in the opening day of the 50th edition of the Torneo de Baloncesto Superior Altagraciano (TBS Higüey 2025), which was held at the Leo Tavárez sports center.

The Centro (1-0) defeated the reigning champions of the Antonio Guzmán club (0-1) 92-85 in the closing match, and in the first round, San José (1-0) defeated Savica (0-1) 99-83, in the competition that will be played for the Punta Cana Cup, sponsored by the Puntacana Group.
The contest is organized by the Basketball Association of La Altagracia Province (ABAPA), presided over by Jorge Tavárez, and has a special dedication to Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte, Bishop of the Diocese of Our Lady of La Altagracia.
For the Center, the best on offense were the reinforcement Kerry Richardson, who achieved a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, with four assists, and imitated by Nathanael Louis with 19 baskets and 16 rebounds, Jordy Peralta with 20 and Albert Fernández with 19 plus eight rebounds.
For the defeated, Bryan De la Cruz was impressive but could not prevent the defeat of Antonio Guzmán, concluding the game with 27 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists. Ariel De León followed with 17 points, and José Castillo scored 16 units with six rebounds.
On the other hand, the San José team had the offense of Luis Peña with 29 points, seven rebounds and six assists, Jonathan Guerrero a double-double of 21 digits plus 10 rebounds, Albert Reyes 17 and took nine balls, and Antonio Gordon 16, eight rebounds and 10 assists.
