Santiago.- In the framework of the New Year celebration, the archbishop of the archdiocese of Santiago de los Caballeros, Monsignor Héctor Rafael Rodríguez Rodríguez, expressed his hope that 2026 will not be tarnished by cases of corruption or impunity, while calling for the strengthening of justice, peace and dialogue in Dominican society.
The prelate spoke during a thanksgiving Eucharist celebrated in the Cathedral of Santiago Apostle the Greater, where he offered prayers for the new year to be marked by transparency in public management and respect for ethical values, citing as an example situations that have generated national concern, such as the case of the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa).
Rodríguez Rodríguez urged the authorities and citizens to defend justice without privileges or acts of impunity, insisting that corruption undermines the population's trust and weakens democratic coexistence.
