Police arrest four people for motorcycle theft and recover six units in La Romana

La Romana.- The National Police arrested four people in the act of committing a crime related to motorcycle theft, and recovered six units stolen during an operation carried out by members of the Stolen Vehicle Recovery Division (Dicrim), in coordination with Department II of Stolen Vehicle Recovery (Pilot Plan), in Santo Domingo. The detainees are Argenis Antonio Cedeño Berroa, 32 years old; Yildry Rachel Rosario Polanco, 26; Juan Carlos Flores Tino de los Santos, 28; and José Guillermo de León Puello, 31. According to the police report, those involved were handed over to the authorities in La Romana after being intercepted aboard a Freightliner truck, model M2-106, white color, year 2015, license plate L510260, inside of which six motorcycles were being transported, allegedly stolen.

Among the recovered motorcycles are three Haojue brand, Express model, one Loncin brand and two Tauro brand, in addition to the sum of RD$95,250.00 Dominican pesos and US$5.00 in cash. Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcycles were stolen by the detainee Cedeño Berroa, along with other individuals who are still in the process of being identified, on the morning of January 6, 2026. The theft occurred to the detriment of an agency dedicated to the sale of motorcycles. The detainees and the seized evidence were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office, for the corresponding legal purposes.
