Stephen Curry will miss the 2026 All-Star due to knee discomfort

SAN FRANCISCO.– The stellar point guard Stephen Curry will not participate in the NBA All-Star Game 2026, after continuing to deal with discomfort in his right knee, reported the coach of the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr.

Curry, who has already missed 15 games this season due to various injuries, will also not see action in the team's upcoming commitments before the All-Star break, with the intention of using that extra time to fully recover and rejoin the quintet after the break. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player left the game early on January 30 against the Detroit Pistons due to knee pain, an ailment that —according to Kerr— he had been experiencing for days prior. He was subsequently subjected to an MRI to assess the condition. Golden State expects to have its leader for the first game after the break, scheduled for February 19 against the Boston Celtics at the Chase Center. Curry's absence adds to the loss of his teammate Jimmy Butler, who underwent surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, an injury that ended his season. Despite the setback, the organization maintains hope that Curry can regain his competitive rhythm once the All-Star break is over, in a key stretch of the regular season.
