Rubén Blades announces that 2027 will be his last active year in musical tours

Panama.- Panamanian singer-songwriter and actor Rubén Blades, awarded with multiple prizes, including the Grammy, announced that 2027 will be his "last active year on musical tours", as he wishes to settle "more permanently in Panama, no later than 2028". "I have decided not to continue with the hustle of personal musical performances. I'm turning 78 and I hope I have the health and voice to stay active for a couple more years, as long as I can still maintain the quality that I have always tried to present to the public that supports us in the concerts," Blades wrote in a long statement released in the last few hours. The singer-songwriter of great hits like 'Pedro Navaja' or 'Decisiones' stated that in 2026 he will visit "Europe with Roberto Delgado's band", the only one with which he performs at this stage of his career, to have "the pleasure of being with them there, one last time".
