The game began with offensive power from the Mets, when Francisco Lindor hit a home run to open the game. However, that would be practically the only damage against Yamamoto, who took absolute control of the duel from that moment on. The right-hander retired 20 consecutive batters after the home run, showcasing a solid repertoire and great command of his pitches. His streak extended to the seventh inning, keeping the New York offense at bay in an intense pitching duel against starting pitcher Nolan McLean. Yamamoto faced his biggest complication in the seventh inning, when he allowed a double to Bo Bichette and walked Francisco Álvarez. However, he managed to get out of the trouble after receiving instructions from the mound and dominating Brett Baty to close the threat. The pitcher worked 7.2 innings, in which he allowed four hits, one run, conceded one walk and struck out seven batters, in a high-quality outing. The Dodgers' offense responded at the opportune moment. In the eighth inning, Kyle Tucker hit a run-scoring single that broke the tie and secured the final lead for the home team. In the closing, the Los Angeles bullpen was in charge of preserving the victory. Blake Treinen stifled a dangerous situation with runners on base, while Alex Vesia was credited with the save after pitching a perfect ninth inning. With this result, the Dodgers secured the series and continue to show strength in their starting rotation, which has strung together outstanding performances on consecutive days. In addition, the stellar Shohei Ohtani will have the opportunity to maintain the momentum of the pitching staff in the next commitment.
