Santo Domingo.-A small fire affected this Wednesday a commercial establishment located on the second level of the main structure of the Mercado Fronterizo, where household cleaning products are sold, including toilet paper and other merchandise.
According to statements by Óscar Díaz, the fire may have originated while work was being done to install a lamp, which would have caused a short circuit. Díaz also indicated that the presence of highly flammable materials, such as paper and other supplies, contributed to the rapid spread of smoke inside the premises.
Units from the Fire Department immediately went to the scene, and they managed to control the situation before the flames spread to other areas of the market.
