Chicago. - Arajet CEO and founder, Víctor Pacheco, and the Dominican Republic's Minister of Tourism, David Collado, presented to over 200 travel agents and tour operators from Chicago the country's strategy to improve connectivity between that city and the Dominican Republic with more direct flights to Punta Cana and a promotion for passengers.
During the road show that MITUR held in the so-called windy city this Wednesday, the airline presented an offer under the code “FLYCHICAGO” through which they are offering a 50% discount to passengers who choose to purchase this route. Likewise, a series of advantages were presented for tour operators and travel agents, so that they can have more benefits by sending their clients to the Dominican Republic, and especially to Punta Cana.
They highlighted that this strategic connection not only expands travel options for passengers but also contributes to the strengthening of tourism, cultural exchange, and economic development between both destinations, consolidating Arajet as a key player in the international projection of the Dominican Republic.
The inaugural flight is scheduled for November 15, 2025, with three weekly frequencies departing from Punta Cana International Airport on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Likewise, from O'Hare International Airport, it will connect with Punta Cana on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Mondays.
This new route represents more than 2,200 weekly seats to connect passengers from both cities and make Chicago a strategic destination for the Dominican Republic due to its cultural diversity, tourism potential, and business opportunities.
According to the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, the United States is the main source market for tourists to the country and Chicago is one of the key markets for Dominican tourism from where more than 138,000 tourists visited the country by air.
Arajet explained that the special promotion “Fly Chicago”, available from August 27 to 31, 2025, offers up to a 50% discount on base fares in Smart, Comfort or Extra, using the promotional code “FLYCHICAGO”. The applicable travel period will be from November 15, 2025 to March 18, 2026, subject to availability.
