DICRIM deepens investigation into murder of couple in Constanza

Santo Domingo.- The National Police, through the Investigation Division (DICRIM) of Constanza, in coordination with the Public Ministry, is investigating the death of a couple who were shot by unknown individuals early in the morning of this Sunday, January 18, in the municipal district of Tireo, Constanza, province La Vega.

The event occurred in the marquee of a residence located on José A. Durán street, where Luis Manuel Batista Zapata, 55, and his girlfriend María Magdalena Páez Jerez, 35, were found dead, both with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the authorities' investigation.

According to the preliminary report, people under investigation intercepted the victims. The preliminary report indicates that the attackers fled the scene aboard the vehicle in which the victims were traveling: Toyota Hilux 4x4, white, year 2023, license plate L473239. Said vehicle has already been recovered as part of the investigative process. On the scene, technicians from the Scientific Police collected evidence as part of the investigative process. Authorities reported that the case is under investigation, and that as the investigations progress, further details will be offered.
