Edesur: fire affects electrical networks in Barahona communities

Writing.- Edesur Dominicana reports that unscrupulous individuals caused a fire that affected an electrical network structure type H and the axis of the BARA 105 circuit in the province of Barahona, leaving more than 20 communities in the area without service. The disaster swept away electrical poles and cables, in response to which the electricity distribution company is developing a large-scale operation to be able to access the rugged mountain with the purpose of repairing the notable damage caused and restoring the service.

The affected sectors are La 40, San Juan Bautista, Barrio Nuevo, FUDECO, Juan Esteban, El Payaso, Santa Elena, El Arroyo, Bahoruco, Ciénaga, Los Guayuyales, Villanueva, Barahona, Barrio Casandra, Baitoita, Loma Las Felipina, El Quemaito, Santa Elena, among others.

Edesur states that the area where the poles and cables were burned is difficult for vehicles to access, so one must walk on foot through the mountains to reach the part damaged by the fire.
It qualifies as a serious attack against the electricity sector the provocation of the fire that leaves an important area of Barahona without electricity.
