Last month, the Mexican influencer Valeria Márquez was murdered by a hitman while live streaming from her aesthetic clinic in Zapopan. The attack, which occurred inside the Blossom The Beauty Lounge salon, is being investigated as a possible femicide by contract, according to the authorities.

Another young woman who also stood out in content creation on social media was murdered on May 19th, this time in Colombia. María José Estupiñán, 22, was shot at the door of her house, in the city of Cúcuta. According to the reconstruction by local media, a man who pretended to be a delivery person arrived at the victim's house to, supposedly, give her a gift.
