Madrid.- Spain is considering the creation of a global alliance for multilateralism in the face of the current geopolitical context and that serves for the peaceful resolution of conflicts, as defended this Thursday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, in Congress.
Albares made this proposal during his appearance in a plenary session in the Lower House to report on Spain's position on the situation in Venezuela and in which he also referred to the moment that other conflicts such as Ukraine, Gaza or Greenland are going through.
The Spanish Foreign Minister stressed that international law and institutions are basic elements of democracies, and when they are attacked, democracy itself, coexistence, peace and freedom are attacked, and that leads to chaos.
In her opinion, it is time for her to defend international cooperation, the peaceful resolution of all conflicts, and international security."We are not going to resign ourselves to an order of injustice, arbitrariness and violence," added Albares, before proposing his global alliance for multilateralism.

He assured that Spain will continue to strongly defend that multilateralism from the recognition that, he said, it has worldwide for its commitment to an international order based on rules anywhere. "Our foreign policy is an expression of the best values of our society. It is the task of Spain's foreign policy to defend democracy, multilateralism, international law, values of our society and those of a European Union," he affirmed in his appearance. He also called on Europe to become aware of the value of its strength, and warned that, "in this time of predator aggression", weakening Europe is weakening Spain." That is why I have defended a more united and more integrated European Union. "It is time for Europe to become, in its own right, the global benchmark for the values of democracy, social justice, multilateralism and peace," he added.
