Trump will meet with Netanyahu amid efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza

President Donald Trump will receive Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House next Monday, according to a U.S. official who asked not to be identified, as the visit has not yet been officially announced.

This meeting takes place at a key moment, when Trump has begun to redouble pressure on Israel to reach an agreement that includes a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages, and the end of the conflict in the region.

Netanyahu's visit follows that of Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, who was recently in Washington discussing issues such as Gaza, Iran, and other regional security matters with senior U.S. officials.

In recent statements, Trump assured that his administration is focused on ending the violence. "We believe that within the next week we will achieve a ceasefire in Gaza," he told the press on Friday, although he did not offer further details.

Karoline Leavitt, White House press secretary, confirmed that the Trump administration maintains ongoing contacts with Israel. She emphasized that ending the war in Gaza is a priority for the president. "The president wants this to end. He wants to save lives," said Leavitt, acknowledging the human impact of the images that have circulated from both sides of the conflict.

Although there is still no defined date, the White House is working to coordinate a future visit by Netanyahu to Washington.
