Ramírez, a key player in winning the American League Central Division title, earned this distinction for the "fourth time" in his career, after having received it in 2016, 2021, and 2022. In the 2025 season, the stellar 33-year-old player once again led the Guardians with impactful offensive performances. In 158 games, he recorded a solid line of .283/.360/.503, with 34 doubles, 30 home runs, 85 RBIs, and 44 stolen bases, leading the team in each of those categories. His consistency also led him to finish third in the MVP voting and to be selected for the seventh time to the All-Star Game. In addition to the Man of the Year award, the Cleveland BBWAA announced that pitching coach Carl Willis was recognized with the Frank Gibbons/Steve Olin Good Guy Award, for his willingness, respect and constant collaboration with the media throughout the season. Among other individual achievements in 2025, Ramírez became the franchise's all-time leader in extra-base hits and in games with multiple home runs, in addition to surpassing Jim Thome for second place in RBIs in club history. With this new recognition, Ramírez continues to consolidate his legacy as one of the most influential and consistent players in the history of the Guardians.
