San Francisco de Macorís. – The game between the Águilas Cibaeñas and the Gigantes del Cibao, scheduled for this Monday afternoon at the Julián Javier Stadium, was postponed due to the rains recorded in the northeast region of the country.
The match was reassigned for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 6th.

The meeting was originally scheduled to start at 5:00 PM, but weather conditions forced preparations to be stopped. Subsequently, the game was rescheduled for 7:00 PM due to technical inconveniences in the stadium's electrical system, generated after an accident that occurred in the vicinity of the park.
However, the Cibaeñas Eagles, already notified of the time change, did not make the move to San Francisco de Macorís, which led to the definitive suspension of the game.
This duel corresponded to the second of three matchups between both teams in the current Round Robin 2025-2026 of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), as well as the third of the six scheduled commitments between Gigantes and Águilas at this venue.
The postponement represents an uncommon event at the Julián Javier Stadium, where a game had not been suspended due to rain since January 19, 2018, precisely in a match against the Águilas Cibaeñas. That semifinal was one of the most affected by inclement weather, with multiple games postponed for several teams.
The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported that at least five provinces remain on alert due to the incidence of a trough and a front system, responsible for the downpours accompanied by electrical storms that have affected different areas of the country.
In the sports aspect, the situation continues to be complicated for the Gigantes del Cibao, who are going with a record of "0-7" in the Round Robin, occupying the last place in the standings and with little chance of advancing to the Final Series.
