Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET) reported that rains will continue in several provinces of the country during the rest of the night and throughout the weekend, as a result of the moderate northeast wind that drags humidity from the Atlantic Ocean.
In that sense, predictor Juan de la Rosa explained that during the night and early morning, showers will continue towards the Atlantic coast, affecting provinces such as Puerto Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, as well as areas of northern Hato Mayor and El Seibo, especially in coastal areas and nearby locations.
He indicated that in Greater Santo Domingo, the rainfall will be felt mainly from Saturday afternoon, presenting itself in the form of passing showers, sometimes locally strong. These conditions will also extend to San Pedro de Macorís, San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega and sectors of Santiago.

De la Rosa clarified that, although rain is expected, it would not pose a significant danger, as it will be short-lived and no significant accumulations are expected to generate flooding. Also, the predictor warned that an increase in offshore waves is expected for Sunday on the northeast coast, so it urged operators of small and medium-sized vessels to navigate with caution and remain attentive to the warnings of the meteorological agency.
