Santo Domingo. - According to the forecast of the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET), some isolated showers with possible thunderstorms are expected, especially in the mid-afternoon and early evening, towards locations in La Altagracia, La Romana, La Vega, Santiago, Dajabón, San Pedro de Macorís, among others, due to local effects and wind drag.

The authorities of INDOMET indicated that rainfall will begin to decrease over a large part of the Dominican territory, with mostly sunny and partly cloudy skies being observed, noting the decrease in precipitation, due to the arrival of an air mass with less moisture content. Only isolated showers with possible thunderstorms are expected, especially in the mid-afternoon and early evening hours, towards locations in La Altagracia, La Romana, La Vega, Santiago, Dajabón, San Pedro de Macorís, among others, due to local effects and wind drag.

However, for tomorrow, Tuesday, we will continue under good weather conditions, with a mostly sunny environment prevailing, with slight cloud increases in almost the entire country, due to the low moisture content. However, some local showers with isolated thunderstorms will be generated, due to local effects (daytime heating and orographic), plus the wind drag from the southeast, this activity is expected in some sectors of La Vega, Santiago, Elías Piña, Peravia and San José de Ocoa, mainly in the afternoon.

In that sense, the meteorological alert levels are maintained in several provinces, due to the risk of urban floods, rising rivers, streams and ravines, as well as landslides, as can be seen below;
