Apple partners with Google to integrate Gemini models into its AI functions

New York.- Apple has partnered with Google to boost its artificial intelligence (AI) functions in products like Siri, by the end of this year, according to the two tech titans this Monday. "Apple and Google have signed a multi-year collaboration agreement under which the next generation of Apple's base models will be based on Gemini models and Google's cloud technology," the companies announced today in a joint statement. Meanwhile, according to the statement, these models will drive future Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized version of Siri that will arrive this year. "Following a thorough evaluation, Apple determined that Google's AI technology offers the most solid foundation for its base models and is excited about the innovative experiences it will bring to Apple users," the text notes.

Apple Intelligence will continue to function on Apple devices and in Private Cloud Compute, maintaining Apple's industry-leading privacy standards. Currently, Apple users can configure their devices to allow Apple Intelligence to integrate with OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Apple's Adoption of Gemini Yields Stock Market Results

The news boosted the shares of both tech giants, with Alphabet, Google's parent company, surpassing a market capitalization of $4 trillion. This achievement maintains the upward trend with which Alphabet closed 2025, becoming one of the companies with the highest stock market performance of the past year.
