Santo Domingo. - The Emergency Operations Center (COE) maintains 10 provinces and the National District on yellow alert and 14 on green alert, due to the fact that the report from the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET) establishes that due to the high moisture content in our air mass and the instability associated with the indirect effects of potential tropical cyclone #9, which continues to move away from the country, some cloudiness is observed that generates scattered showers in towns on the south, north and northwest coasts.
Likewise, it is expected that after midday, the heat associated with the diurnal cycle will also favor increases in cloudiness, accompanied by showers that could be heavy in isolated points, thunderstorms and possible wind gusts.
The provinces on yellow alert are:
Santo Domingo
Distrito Nacional
San Cristóbal
San José de Ocoa
Azúa
María Trinidad Sánchez
San Juan
Monte Plata
Pedernales
Peravia
Barahona
In green alert are:
Elías Piña
La Vega
Monseñor Nouel
Dajabón
San Pedro de Macorís
Independencia
Samaná
Santiago
Bahoruco
Duarte
El Seibo
La Romana
La Altagracia
Hato Mayor
In that sense, people are advised to refrain from crossing rivers, streams, and ravines that present high volumes of water in the province under alert.
Similarly, vessel operators are advised to take due caution in the face of reduced visibility due to the rainy activity that will occur towards the Caribbean coast and northeast of the country.
