Edesur Dominicana will develop this Friday a day of construction of new distribution networks as part of the work of putting into operation the new Alfa electrical substation, which will make the service more efficient in Santo Domingo Oeste, Los Alcarrizos and the National District.

With the commissioning of the new infrastructure, the supply to more than 250,000 users will be boosted, with the aim of reducing technical losses and interruptions of the electrical service due to overload.

The interventions warrant the suspension of the supply next Friday, from 9:00 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon.

The works, which will impact sectors such as Las Flores, de los Peralejos and a section of the Republic of Colombia avenue, consist of the laying of electrical lines and the raising of poles in order to enable two new distribution circuits.

Prior to those tasks, the company moved and began the process of installing a 40-megavolt-ampere (MVA) power transformer.

The work is a provisional solution to guarantee the stability of the system and reduce the overload conditions of the substations of Kilometer 10 ½ (of the Duarte Highway), Palamara and Bayona. It is part of an expansion and improvement plan for electrical networks and infrastructure that Edesur Dominicana is developing in various areas of its concession area. Another plan to strengthen the network is being implemented in the long term.

Preventive maintenance

While Edesur Dominicana performs scheduled maintenance on the HERR106 circuit this Thursday, from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning.

Interruptions in the service will partially impact sectors of the National District and Santo Domingo Oeste, including the Herrera Industrial Zone, Los Restauradores, Los Cacicazgos, Renacimiento, and the Rosmil Residential area.

With the interventions, Edesur fulfills its commitment to continuous improvement with a view to optimizing the electrical service in the short, medium, and long term in order to satisfy the needs of its customers and contribute to improving their quality of life.
