Four defendants are remanded in custody for one month for damage to a police station in Villa González

Santiago.- A judge from the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of Santiago imposed one month of preventive prison on four men accused of causing damage to the police station of the municipal district El Limón, in the municipality of Villa González, during a protest that led to violent acts. The coercive measure was issued against Bartolo Santos Salas (Bartolo), Juan Danilo Santos Álvarez (Puerco), Aneudy Jiménez Suero, and José Ramón Toribio Álvarez (Ramón), who face charges of criminal association and destruction of public property, according to the accusation presented by the Public Ministry. According to the record, the events occurred on December 7, 2025, when a demonstration in the municipal district of El Limón culminated in significant damage to the police building. The accused would have been caught on video throwing stones at the barracks, which caused the breaking of doors, glass windows and other material damage, according to the preliminary report of the authorities.

The protest occurred after the death of the young Ángel Miguel “Papucho” Santos, who was run over by a truck driven by a police officer who was intervening in a street party. Although the National Police has classified the event as an accident, community residents claim that the act was intentional, which heightened tensions and triggered the riots. The court ordered the accused to serve preventive detention at the Rafey Hombres Correction and Rehabilitation Center in Santiago while investigations into the case continue.
