Mexico City.– The dubbing industry in Latin America is in mourning following the death of Gloria Rocha, a renowned director and dubbing actress, whose work left an indelible mark on emblematic productions such as Dragon Ball Z, Slam Dunk, Sailor Moon and Sakura Card Captors. Rocha died at the age of 94 years old, consolidating a career that marked several generations of viewers.
The news was confirmed by actors and colleagues in the industry through social media, who expressed messages of sorrow and gratitude towards the person who was considered a mentor and reference within the world of dubbing. Affectionately known as "The Godmother", Gloria Rocha was a key figure in the training of talent and in the professionalization of dubbing in Latin Spanish. Her career began in the 1960s, participating as a voice actress in classic television series, and later she stood out as a dubbing director in productions that achieved enormous popularity in Latin America. Her artistic sensibility, leadership, and commitment to quality positioned her as one of the most influential personalities in the sector.
