The Ministers of Finance and Economy (MHE), Magín Díaz, and of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM), Víctor -Ito- Bisonó, held a meeting with representatives of the Mipymes sector nationwide, as part of the Government's commitment to permanent dialogue and the strengthening of the country's productive apparatus.
With this meeting, both officials seek to continue promoting a favorable environment for the growth and consolidation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, recognizing their fundamental role in the dynamization of the national economy and in job creation.
During the meeting, held at the MICM headquarters, the ministers listened to proposals and concerns from the sector on key issues for its development, reiterating the government's willingness to continue articulating efforts that facilitate access to financing, improve operating conditions, and strengthen the productive capacity of MSMEs, which represent 89.5% of the national productive fabric.
Minister Magín Díaz highlighted that the development of SMEs is a priority for the government's economic policy, and assured that the Ministry of Finance and Economy will work closely with the MICM to align actions, resources and initiatives that promote the sustainability and growth of this sector.
"I am convinced that we can develop concrete public policy initiatives that strengthen and complement the efforts you are already making. As of today, I reiterate my willingness to collaborate and formally open this channel of joint work," said Minister Díaz.
On his part, Minister Ito Bisonó assured that this type of space reaffirms the government's vision of working hand in hand with national productive sectors. "SMEs are the heart of the Dominican economy. From the Government we are committed to promoting them and ensuring that they have the necessary support to overcome challenges, grow and generate employment throughout the country," he said.
Both officials pledged to maintain a direct and permanent communication channel with the actors in this sector and with other key components of the national productive apparatus, as part of an integral economic development strategy with a territorial and inclusive vision.
The representatives of the SMEs valued the openness and approach shown by the Government and took advantage of the meeting to express their main needs and challenges, reaffirming their willingness to continue collaborating in the construction of joint solutions.
In the meeting, the vice ministers of Internal Commerce of the MICM, Ramón Pérez Fermín; of Promotion of MSMEs, Jorge Guillermo Morales Paulino; and of Industrial Development, Gianna Franjul, as well as the director of Promipyme, Fabricio Gómez Mazara, also participated.
On behalf of the MSME sector, representatives from 22 entities were present, including: the Dominican Confederation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CODOPYME), the National Federation of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of the Dominican Republic (FENACERD), and the National Council of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of the Dominican Republic (CONACERD), among others.
