Santo Domingo Oeste. – The man identified and handed over to the authorities is accused of being responsible for the death of the minor Miguel Ángel Martínez, 17 years old, which occurred on January 17, 2026 in the Ensanche Altagracia de Herrera sector, during an incident recorded in front of the Enriquillo Sport betting shop, on Isabel Aguiar avenue.
According to the death certificate No. 0105440, the teenager died from a gunshot wound to the left hemithorax. The incident occurred after a dispute caused by a collision between a motorcycle and a white Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, a situation that led to several shots being fired in the crowd, resulting in the minor being fatally wounded.
Investigations establish that the vehicle involved is owned by the brothers Ney Eduardo Soto de los Santos and Luis Ney Soto de los Santos, who appeared before the Homicide Division on January 19, 2026, handing over the car and the firearms they legally carried. According to statements, the vehicle had been delivered days earlier to Cristian Smarling Sepúlveda de Jesús for repair and sale purposes.
