Lima.- A total of 109 couples got married this Thursday in a community civil wedding held in a park in Lima, officiated by the mayor of the capital, Renzo Reggiardo, who highlighted the value of the family as the nucleus of society.
Andrés and Amy saw the initiative of the Municipality of the Peruvian capital on TikTok and decided to get married in this particular ceremony.
"We had planned to get married this year and we saw this opportunity and said, we have to go and try, because we also want to get married religiously and what better way to start the year already married", the newlyweds told EFE, who have been together for two years.

The ceremony took place in the Magic Water Circuit Park, a green space with a multitude of fountains in the historic center of the capital, and a hundred couples of all ages were able to enjoy a toast, flowers, raffles and a subsequent party.The mayor pointed out in the ceremony that although it is a community marriage, it is not just any marriage, as it has been prepared with care by the municipal authorities to promote this civil union "as the basic nucleus of society". After reading the duties and rights of marriage, Reggiardo formalized the civil union of those present, a representative couple read the vows and everyone shared a toast before celebrating the marriages."The act, driven by the Sub-Management of Women and Family of the Human Development Management, with the aim of promoting the exercise of civil rights, providing legal security to families and strengthening the legal and social basis of Lima households," indicated the Municipality.
