Santo Domingo's Malecon erupts in euphoria after Juan Soto's home run

Santo Domingo.- The Malecón of Santo Domingo experienced moments of great emotion on Wednesday night after the stellar Dominican outfielder Juan Soto hit an imposing home run in the first inning, placing the score 2-0 in favor of the Dominican Republic Baseball Team against the Venezuela Baseball Team during a game of the World Baseball Classic. Hundreds of fans gathered at the Malecón in Santo Domingo, specifically in the area of Parque Santo Domingo, reacted with shouts, applause, and flags after the hit that ignited the atmosphere in front of the Caribbean Sea. Among those present was also the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, who shared the excitement with those present and celebrated the play that thrilled the fans. The game between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela is shown on giant screens installed on the Malecón, turning the place into a meeting point for baseball fans who enjoy the festive atmosphere while supporting the Quisqueyan team.
