Santo Domingo. - Since early morning, rains have been recorded in several areas of the country due to the entry of cloudiness carried by the wind and the influence of a trough, affecting different coastal and inland provinces such as: La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, among others, according to the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET).
In that sense, it is expected that in the morning hours, rainfall will decrease in intensity and frequency, however, in the afternoon they will return as showers that may be moderate, with wind gusts, affecting Greater Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa and nearby provinces.
Tomorrow, Friday, the rains will continue from dawn in locations on the Atlantic coast such as: La Altagracia, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Puerto Plata, among others, due to the influence of the trough and the wind's drag. In the afternoon, the rains will move towards the center, north and southeast of the country, presenting as moderate showers, with possible isolated thunderstorms and wind gusts, which will mainly affect Gran Santo Domingo, Sánchez Ramírez, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, Monseñor Nouel, Santiago, La Vega, San Juan, Dajabón, among others. Regarding temperatures, they will continue to be pleasant and cool at night and early morning, especially in mountainous areas and inland valleys, due to the time of year, where occurrences of fogs and mists are expected. On the Atlantic coast, from Cabo Engaño (La Altagracia) to Cabo Francés Viejo (María Trinidad Sánchez) and the Caribbean coast from Paraíso (Barahona) to Isla Beata (Pedernales), we recommend that operators of fragile, small and medium-sized vessels remain in port, due to wind gusts and dangerous waves. Recommendations are maintained on both coasts due to dangerous waves. Temperatures will remain cool and pleasant in most of the country during the night, early morning and early hours of the day.
