Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Republic's Meteorology Institute reported that the weather conditions over the national territory are being influenced by a trough, combined with the east/southeast wind and local effects, generating cloudiness accompanied by moderate to heavy showers.
Predictor Carla Morales explained that these precipitations are accompanied by thunderstorms and wind gusts, especially affecting several provinces that are under alerts and meteorological warnings, due to the risk of urban flooding, as well as rising rivers, streams and ravines.
Among the most affected provinces are La Altagracia, La Romana, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata and Santo Domingo, among other locations.
For this Saturday, the agency predicts that the showers will continue, being occasionally moderate to heavy, with thunderstorms and wind gusts in a large part of the country.
