The matchup, a rematch of the last National League Championship Series, was interrupted by a 98-minute rain delay in the third inning, but that didn't stop the drama from extending into the late hours in Queens.

The Dodgers were three outs away from victory in the ninth inning when the Mets tied the score with three runs against closer Tanner Scott. Jeff McNeil hit a two-run triple and Tyrone Taylor drove in another with a single, bringing the excitement to a maximum among the more than 40 thousand fans present.

However, after multiple missed opportunities by the home team in extra innings, Los Angeles capitalized in the 13th with a run-scoring hit by Hernández, who finished the day 5-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Cuban Andy Pagés also contributed with a key RBI, and Puerto Rican Kiké Hernández had a hit in two at-bats.

For the Mets, Starling Marte stood out with two hits and two runs scored, while Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto went hitless in four and five at-bats, respectively.

Pitcher Huascar Brazobán (3-1), ninth used by the Mets in the game, took the loss.

With this result, the Dodgers continue their good form and demonstrate why they remain serious contenders in the National League. Source: MLB.
