Moscow.- Russian culture has not created animated films that promote the "traditional family", as is the case with the popular American series 'The Simpsons', according to Russian Metropolitan Yevgeny Kulber.
According to the religious figure, the American series has been "showing a solid family for 40 years" with three children. Russia, on the other hand, has not been able to do "anything similar," he asserted, quoted by the portal 66.ru.
"Our cartoons, which have their merit and are educational, have not created an attractive image of a mature and happy family," he opined.
Speaking of Russian cartoons, the representative of the Orthodox Church mentioned 'Smeshariki', where the characters, "although they are friends, live alone, are lonely and happy, something that does not happen in real life."He also mentioned the famous cartoon series 'Masha and the Bear', in which the protagonist "is so independent that we don't know if she has a family, what she's like or what her father looks like".

The religious leader's statements come amid a campaign in favor of the promotion of "traditional values" initiated by the Russian authorities, which foresees, in particular, improving the appeal of large families.
According to statistics, currently for every 10 weddings in Russia, 8 divorces are registered.
