Trough and tropical wave will influence weather conditions tomorrow, Friday.

Santo Domingo, RD — The forecaster of the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), Carla Morales, reported that during the afternoon of this Thursday, local showers occurred in different regions of the interior of the country, mainly in the northeast, northwest and central mountain range areas. For tonight, a decrease in precipitation is expected, with a partly cloudy sky and little rain in most of the national territory.

For tomorrow, the expert meteorologist explained that the incidence of a trough, along with the approach of a tropical wave, will again cause local showers in the northwest, northeast, southeast regions and the central mountain range.

In that sense, he highlighted that the provinces with the highest probability of rain are Monte Plata, Santiago, La Vega, La Javón, Santiago Rodríguez and Elías Piña, among others.

Morales also highlighted that temperatures will be quite hot due to the winds coming from the east and southeast, as well as the time of year. For this reason, he recommended that the population drink plenty of fluids, wear light-colored clothing, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun to prevent heatstroke.

Regarding maritime conditions, these remain normal, so activities on the coasts can be carried out without problems, concluded the INDOMET forecaster.
