Faced with the new series of recognitions, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised a direct response. "I have a clear message for those leaders who are recognizing a Palestinian state after the horrific massacre of October 7: they are rewarding terrorism with a huge prize," he declared on Sunday. "And I have another message for you: that will not happen. There will be no Palestinian state west of the Jordan River," Netanyahu added. "The response to the latest attempt to impose a terrorist state in the heart of our land will be given after my return from the United States. Wait for it," the president asserted.
  • More than 140 UN members already recognize Palestine, a number that continues to increase amid growing shock over Israel's bloody offensive in the Gaza Strip.
