To be elected, a player must receive at least 75% of the votes cast by BBWAA members.

The new nominees join a group of 15 returning players from last year's ballot, including top contenders:
  • Carlos Beltrán (70.3%)

Encarnación, remembered for his power at the plate, his multiple 30+ home run seasons, and his impact with teams like the Blue Jays, Reds, and Indians, will seek to garner support in his first appearance on the ballot for Cooperstown. The BBWAA will announce the voting results on January 20, 2026.
