SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS. - A violent incident that occurred on Sunday night in an entertainment center in this city culminated in the death of Mikel Fernández, a 27-year-old, after receiving a fatal stab wound to the chest during an altercation.
The death of Fernández, a resident of Santo Domingo who was visiting to spend the December holidays, has generated consternation in the community, as the conflict originated over a debt.
According to the initial testimony of the deceased's mother, Mikel was with a cousin when he was confronted by an individual identified as Rafelin. The woman stated that the aggression occurred because Mikel's nephew allegedly owed Rafelin money.
