Washington.- The president of the U.S., Donald Trump, criticized this Monday the Ukrainian attack, denounced by Moscow but denied by Kyiv, on a residence of the Russian president Vladimir Putin, who has said that this attack could lead him to review his position on some agreements reached with Kyiv in previous negotiations.

"I don't like it. It's not good. I found out this morning. Do you know who told me? President Putin told me. Early this morning he told me that he had been attacked. It's not a good thing", Trump told the media at the beginning of his meeting today at his residence in Mar-a-Lago with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Don't forget the Tomahawks. I stopped the Tomahawks. I didn't want that. Because we are talking about a delicate moment. It's not the right time," explained the U.S. president referring to Washington's refusal to provide Kyiv with Tomahawk missiles, considering that they would favor an escalation with Moscow. The Republican considered that "one thing is to be offensive" and that "another thing is to attack his house. It's not the right time to do any of that", added Trump, who claimed to be "very angry". When asked about the possibility that the Ukrainian attack on one of the Russian president's residences in the Novgorod region did not actually happen, Trump conceded that "it's possible". "But the thing is, Putin told me this morning that it happened," he asserted. For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy considered in a message on Telegram that "the Russians have invented an obviously false story about some kind of attack on the residence of a Russian dictator, to have an excuse to continue the attacks against Ukraine" and accused Moscow of wanting to "break with the advances" achieved by the negotiating teams of Ukraine and the United States. Trump, who met with Zelensky in Florida yesterday, said in turn that the conversation he had with Putin today was "very productive" and expressed optimism, assuring that the negotiations "are working" and that if "a couple of issues" are resolved, peace between Ukraine and Russia will be achieved. This is the second phone contact that Trump and Putin have had in the last 24 hours. The American and the Russian had a "good and very productive" conversation before the meeting with the Ukrainian.
