Comptroller's office to strengthen oversight of Social Security resources

The Comptroller General of the Republic, within the framework of the transformation of its mission processes, launched a plan aimed at strengthening the supervision and control of the resources of the Dominican Social Security System (SDSS), reported the Comptroller General of the Republic, Geraldo Espinosa.

He maintained that this initiative emphasizes the strengthening of preventive controls to be applied by the Internal Audit Units (IAU) and the technical training of personnel for special or high-risk areas, with the purpose of protecting public resources and, especially, those of the affiliates to the Dominican Social Security System.

As part of the institutional strengthening process, Comptroller Geraldo Espinosa paid a visit to the director of the Dominican Institute for the Prevention and Protection of Occupational Risks (Idoppril), Dr. Agustín Burgos, and to the Internal Audit Unit that operates in that entity, in order to learn more details of the processes carried out by it.

The aforementioned plan of the Comptroller General of the Republic requires the incorporation of highly qualified personnel, with specialized training and technical skills that contribute to consolidating the control and supervision mechanisms in the field of social security.

In that sense, professionals with postgraduate degrees, master's degrees, or master's degrees in the Dominican Social Security System are called upon, as well as specializations in the field, endorsed by highly recognized academic institutions. Professionals with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a Doctorate or Bachelor's degree in Law, Medicine, and a Bachelor's degree in Administration may apply.

"This effort responds to the need to consolidate a closer and more modern control model, based on risk prevention, early detection of potential weaknesses, and the timely adoption of corrective measures that ensure integrity in the administration of resources," the Comptroller pointed out.

The recruited personnel will be incorporated into the Internal Audit Units (UAI) installed in the entities belonging to the Dominican Social Security System. Interested parties can send their resumes to the email contacto@contraloria.gob, in order to be evaluated by the Human Resources Department. Space is limited.

The Comptroller reiterated that the institution will continue to adopt measures aimed at strengthening internal control in all sectors of the State, with the purpose of protecting public assets, promoting a culture of integrity, and ensuring that public resources are administered efficiently and transparently.
