Abinader raises prayer for the Dominican people on the Day of Our Lady of Altagracia

SANTO DOMINGO.– On the occasion of the celebration of Our Lady of Altagracia Day, President Luis Abinader shared a message of faith and hope on his social media this Wednesday, in which he offered a prayer for the Dominican people, the families of the country and those who are going through greater difficulties.

In his publication, the president highlighted the role of the Virgen de la Altagracia as the protective mother of Dominicans, asking for her intercession to cover the nation with faith, hope and peace, and continue guiding the path of the Dominican Republic.

"The president expressed his wish that the mantle of the Virgin continue to accompany the nation and strengthen the union and solidarity among Dominicans," the message indicates.

Every January 21st, the Dominican Republic celebrates the Day of Our Lady of Altagracia, considered the spiritual patron saint of the country, a date that brings together thousands of parishioners in religious acts and manifestations of devotion, especially in the Basilica of Higüey, La Altagracia province.
