Foreigner arrested trying to travel to Spain with three sheets of alleged cocaine hidden in suitcase

Santo Domingo.- A Spanish citizen was arrested by agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Specialized Airport Security Corps (CESAC), at Las Américas International Airport, JFPG, when he tried to leave the country with three sheets presumably cocaine, hidden in a false bottom of his luggage. The agents, supported by Customs inspectors (DGA) and coordinated by the Public Ministry, approached the 29-year-old foreigner and after inspecting his luggage, through one of the X-ray machines, suspicious images were observed, proceeding to apply the action protocol.

Upon opening the suitcase, a false bottom was discovered, where three sheets presumably containing cocaine were found, wrapped in luminous paper, with an approximate weight of 2.3 kilograms. The Public Ministry and the DNCD are deepening investigations to determine if there are others involved in the frustrated international drug trafficking operation, while the substance samples were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) for the corresponding purposes.
