Santo Domingo.- Joel Baldemiro Peña Rojas, the new interim chief prosecutor of Elías Piña province, was sworn in this Thursday, appointed by the Superior Council of the Public Ministry (CSMP).
His appointment took place at the Eleventh Extraordinary Session of the Superior Council of the Public Ministry (CSMP), held on August 12, 2025, in which the transfer of Peña Rojas as interim head to the Prosecutor's Office of Elías Piña was known and approved.
The head of the Regional Prosecutor's Office of San Juan, appeals court prosecutor Juan Bautista, swore in the new prosecutor in an act held at the facilities of the Palace of Justice of that province.
Peña Rojas, president of the Dominican Association of Career Prosecutors (Adofic), at the time of his appointment, served as a prosecutor of the Judicial District of Santo Domingo East, in the province of Santo Domingo.

The new head takes over from Ramil Cadete Pérez, who was transferred to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office against Trafficking, Carrying and Illegal Possession of Weapons, in compliance with the decisions adopted by the CSMP, to strengthen the structure of the Public Ministry in priority areas.
