Sabana Yegua, Azua – The mayor of the municipality of Sabana Yegua, Francis Abreu, condemned this Saturday the illegal connections to the potable water system, allegedly made by people who divert the service for the irrigation of agricultural crops agrícolas.
During a press conference offered to local media, the municipal executive described this practice as “unacceptable” , which he said puts at risk the supply of the liquid for hundreds of families in the community.
“It is unacceptable that unscrupulous individuals make illegal connections to the Sabana Yegua water system to irrigate agricultural plantations. We will not allow a few to harm the well-being of the entire community,” said Abreu.

The mayor reaffirmed his support for the National Institute of Potable Water and Sewage (Inapa) in the actions it carries out to ensure a constant and efficient supply in the municipality.
“As always, we provide our full support to Inapa in all aspects so that the constant water supply in our municipality is maintained and continues to improve every day,” he added.
Abreu urged citizens to collaborate with the authorities by reporting any irregular connection and asked the competent bodies to act firmly against these violations.
“Water is a vital resource that we must all protect,” he concluded.
