Serious accident in La Guama, SFM, leaves eleven injured, including a child

San Francisco de Macorís. – A spectacular traffic accident that occurred this Sunday in the La Guama section of this municipality, left a balance of eleven people injured, including a minor. The incident occurred when a white Hyundai Sonata car allegedly attempted to overtake on a curve, colliding head-on with a Toyota pickup, also white, which was traveling in the opposite direction towards San Francisco de Macorís.

The crash was of high intensity, and due to the magnitude of the impact, several occupants of both vehicles suffered serious injuries. The injured were assisted by units of the National Emergency System 9-1-1, who transferred them to different health centers in the city to receive medical attention. Witnesses to the event indicated that excessive speed and recklessness when overtaking on a curve would have been the main causes of the accident, which once again brings into debate the need for greater caution at the wheel and preventive measures in dangerous sections.
