Puerto Rico.- Dominican singer Víctor Roque spoke out about the controversy surrounding Manny Manuel's absence from the Merengue Legends event, held last Saturday at the Coca-Cola Music Hall.
Roque expressed his frustration to the public, while detailing that Manny Manuel had received an advance payment of "USD 18,000", guaranteed by contract, as part of his participation in the concert.

In his statements, Roque did not hesitate to take responsibility for what happened, asking the public to reserve their criticism for him and not for the artist. "I don't know if it's the alcohol, but I ask you to please, any claim you are going to make against Manny Manuel, I will stand up for him, because he wanted to do it from the heart," he stated. Víctor Roque admitted that his intention was to avoid further inconveniences during the show, but he trusts that the gesture of the advance payment and his personal guarantee will help mitigate the disappointment of the public. The situation has ignited the debate on social media and in the press about the artist's personal responsibility and the risks of non-compliance in mass performances. Finally, Roque reaffirmed his commitment to the public that has always supported merengue music: “My credibility is worth more than Manny and all the people who let the public down last night.” His intervention and the evidence presented emphasize a clear defense of professional commitment, although seasoned with signs of personal disappointment.
