Dominican man dies during robbery in Paterson, New Jersey

Paterson, New Jersey. – Rulsi Mata Sosa, a young Dominican native of Laguna Salada, Valverde province, died after being shot during a robbery that occurred while he was sharing a game of dominoes in the public thoroughfare, in the city of Paterson, state of New Jersey.

According to preliminary reports, three armed men arrived at the scene with the intention of robbing those present. In an act of bravery, Mata Sosa attempted to confront one of the assailants, which resulted in him receiving a fatal gunshot.

The news has caused shock among Dominican residents in the United States and in their native community, where he was widely loved. The deceased leaves two children orphaned and is remembered as a hardworking, cheerful man dedicated to his family.
