LA ROMANA.– With a power offensive led by Eloy Jiménez, Sergio Alcántara and Bryan De La Cruz, and a solid opening by Enny Romero, the Toros del Este defeated the Gigantes del Cibao 10-6 this Sunday at the Francisco A. Micheli Stadium, in the continuation of the Round Robin of the championship.

Jiménez hit a home run and drove in three runs, while Alcántara hit a two-run homer and De la Cruz added a solo home run. The Toros scored their 10 runs with just nine hits, five of them extra-base hits, including two doubles and three home runs, raising their total of collective home runs to five this postseason. For Jiménez, this was his first home run of the All-Against-All and extended his streak of consecutive games driving in runs to four. In addition, he has hit in six of the seven games in which he has participated in this stage. With the triumph, the Toros improved their record to 5-2, remain in second place in the standings, won their second consecutive game and gained a two-game lead over third place, remaining only one game behind the leaders, the Leones del Escogido (6-1). The Toros added one more with a run-scoring single by Alcántara, bringing the final score to 10-5. For the Bulls, Eloy Jiménez went 1-4, with a home run, three RBIs, and a run scored; Sergio Alcántara went 2-4, with a home run, two RBIs, and a run scored; Tres Barrera went 1-3, with a double and two RBIs; Bryan De La Cruz went 1-4, with a home run, one RBI, and a run scored; Gilberto Celestino scored twice and stole a base, while Jeimer Candelario crossed the plate twice. For the Giants, Francisco Mejía hit a three-run home run, and Ismael Munguía contributed a double and two RBIs.
