Milwaukee. – Venezuelan Ranger Suárez once again showed his consistency on the mound and the Philadelphia Phillies relied on his arm to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 2-0 this Thursday at American Family Field, a result that allowed them to take the series and extend their lead in the National League East.

Suárez worked six scoreless innings, limiting the Brewers' offense and giving his team the opportunity to break the tie in the seventh inning, when Trea Turner hit a run-scoring single that made the difference. With this victory, the Phillies increased their divisional lead to 6.0 games and are 4.5 games ahead of Milwaukee in the race for the best record in the Old Circuit.
Beyond the triumph, the day left a clear sign regarding the outfield outlook of the club. Manager Rob Thomson once again benched Nick Castellanos, a decision that has already been repeated in six of the last 16 games, including two of the three games in this series against the Brewers.
Castellanos was a starter only in the second game, against the left-handed José Quintana, while in the other two games alternatives such as Brandon Marsh, Weston Wilson and Max Kepler were chosen. "I'm going to put the lineup that I think is best to win every day. At this point in the year, there is no room for anything else," explained Thomson.
The move seems to confirm a sharing of playing time in the outfield corners, with Castellanos and Kepler sharing in right, and Marsh and Wilson in left.
On the hill, Suárez was once again the protagonist, confirming the solid moment of the Phillies, who continue to be established as one of the most complete teams of the season.
