Those led by former NBA player Pablo Prigioni were superior from start to finish over the Canadians, who will face the U.S. for third place. Guard Jose Vildoza, with 26 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and an efficiency of +32 on the court, as well as 61.5% in field goals (8 of 13), with a very high 77.8% in three-pointers (7 of 9), led the Argentinians to their pass to the final. Vildoza was supported by guard Gonzalo Corbalán (12) and center Juan Fernández (11). The albiceleste sinks the U.S.
Argentina did not tremble when it came to taking the duel for the pass to the final and overwhelmed Canada in the first quarter by 24-9. The albiceleste selection continued its dominance in the second quarter, achieving a partial score of 22-20, which left a comfortable 46-29 at halftime. In the second part, Argentina broke the game with a great defense all over the court that prevented any comeback attempt by the Canadian team and won that partial 22-16 to enter the final stretch with a 23-point lead (68-45). With the game almost decided, the Argentinians held on in Canada's best quarter, in which they scored 28 of their 73 points. The partial score was 15-28 in favor of the Canadians, with Marcus Carr standing out with 16 points. Brazil, Argentina's rival in the final
Earlier, point guard Yago dos Santos scored 25 points and was not only the top scorer but also one of the architects of Brazil's victory against the United States by 92-77, with which they qualified for the final of the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 held in Nicaragua. Dos Santos, one of the revelations of the tournament, supported by former NBA player Bruno Caboclo, put Brazil in the final after a spectacular second half by the South American quintet in which they limited the Americans to 25 points (9 in the last quarter).
