Indomet forecasts good weather this Sunday with some local showers in the Cibao and the border

Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Republic's Meteorology Institute (Indomet) reported that for this Sunday, good weather conditions will prevail in a large part of the national territory, with a sky of mixed clouds and sun. However, during the afternoon, local showers accompanied by thunderstorms and isolated wind gusts are expected in provinces of the Cibao and the border area, such as San Juan, Santiago Rodríguez, Puerto Plata, Valverde, Dajabón, Elías Piña, Monte Cristi, and La Vega. These rains will be associated with the humidity left by the passage of a tropical wave, added to the orographic effects and daytime heating. In locations such as Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, Santiago and Azua, only isolated showers with possible thunderstorms are expected.

Conditions for Monday

The agency announced that tomorrow, Monday, rainfall will be very scarce throughout the country due to the arrival of an air mass with low humidity, along with the entry of Saharan dust particles. This will generate a mostly sunny, partly cloudy, and grayish environment. Indomet warned that temperatures will continue to be hot, so it recommended that the population stay in ventilated places, hydrate, and take frequent showers.

  • Santo Domingo Norte: cloud increases with local showers and isolated thunderstorms.
