30% salary increase approved for UASD professors

Santo Domingo.– The University Council of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) approved this Friday the implementation of a 30% salary indexation for teachers, a measure that will be applied in two stages: 15% starting in September 2025 and another 15% in January 2026. The decision was announced by the Federation of Associations of UASD Professors (Faprouasd), which also confirmed the ratification of the removal of academic workload due to seniority and study licenses corresponding to the current semester. You can also read: For the third time, teaching strike continues at UASD In the conversations held between Faprouasd, the rector, and the deans, it was also agreed to maintain the sections with low enrollment and guarantee the inclusion in the payroll, in September, of the professors who competed with complete files and assigned teaching. With this agreement, the federation informed that it lifts the indefinite strike of labors that it had maintained, in compliance with the mandate granted by the General Assembly.
The union organization described this 30% increase as a triumph of the fight for the institutionality of the academy and highlighted the faculty's firmness in defending their rights and the integrity of the federation.
